Random photos of my last week

Forgive me, this week has been crazy. Beyond being unable to edit photos or video, I often forget to use my camera 90% of the time I’m here in Fukuoka/Kumamoto. This continues to confirm my belief that I’d be the worst wedding photographer, since I’d be so wrapped up in conversation that I’d forget to shoot the actual wedding. “Oh, oops, I have like 3 great photos of you two. That’ll be $20k please.”

A few hints on the photos:

That rent-a-cop robot quickly became self aware after I started taking photos of it. Out popped its tasters and it yelled at me that humanity was becoming too unstable to sustain its decline. The maintenance man who was with me at the time explained to me with his limited English and ecstatic hand gestures that they do this once every few hours. Rome wasn’t built in a day, and neither are artificial intelligence computer systems, so I’ll give the Japanese a nobel gold star for trying such a risky machine in a public shopping centre.

CAFÉ de F.O.B. was quite the laugh for me. FOB is a Hawaiian acronym referring to Fresh Off the Boat, which points to the vast array of newly migrated — and ignorant — Asians in the great state of Hawaii. This one fits the glove perfectly on account of it actually being in a country that provides Hawaii with FOBs.

All the photos exclude humanoids, since I have been unable to colorize photos correctly on this aging machine of mine. Also, these were taken in Fukuoka.

Heh, this is the best. I feel like I’m sleeping in Bruce Willis’ apartment on The Fifth Element. Unfortunately, I was freshly reminded of the rock hard pillow and mattress combo that the Japanese love oh-too-much. I was going to blame my 0300 wake time on jet lag, but sleeping on a slate accounts for much greater grounds.

Things I have learnt this morning:

Never trust SVN in moving directories, because you’re likely to loose all your uncommitted code when preforming said action.
SproutCore’s require() build-tools method is relative to the application or framework path you are working with.
Drink coffee before preforming anything that costs time or money.

I’m sure in the next 6 hours I’m going to learn a whole bunch more.

I just realized that I had the craziest dream the other night. Apparently I was at a party where Kayne showed face and everyone was hating on him on account of his idiocracy at the VMAs. However, being the compassionate protagonist of my life that I am, I said to Kanye that I respected his assertiveness and his public love for Beyoncé’s musical skill. He centered me out and we chatted, entourage included, for a good 20-30 minutes, and became good friends. Then the unthinkable happened—he dissed me. He completely exiled my empathy and pity, and said something emotionally heart breaking that in turn made me one of the hateful masses. I think Obama was there too and something about unicorns fixing Afghanistan’s views on democracy—but that’s not the important part.

I say all this because I’m finding it funny that my sub-consciene had to emotionally attack my positive view on Kanye to make me think less of the man.

Oh my, I so want to play this game! What will the Japanese think...
